Getting set up
Always the same Ring Again number: 07863 777065 (+44 7863 777065). It's shown in the app whenever a session starts. During setup the app offers to save it to your phone as a contact called "Ring Again", so our calls show up by name rather than as an unknown or "possible spam" caller. If you skipped that step, Settings has a "Save Ring Again's number as a contact" button, or you can download the contact card: ring-again.vcf
We text a six-digit code to your mobile; on iPhone and most Android phones it fills itself in. If the text doesn't arrive within a minute, tap "Call me instead" and an automated call reads the code out twice (pop it on speaker). We only use your number to ring you — see the privacy policy.
Check the number is your own UK or Irish mobile, wait a minute, then try "Call me instead". If neither works, email us.
Using Ring Again
Hold the line is best for the 8:30 scramble: we ring you first, you stay on the call (speaker on, kettle on) and the instant the surgery answers you're through with no delay. Ring me back dials in the background and, when the surgery answers, keeps them talking for a few seconds while we ring you. Answer fast — if you miss it we apologise to them and stop.
To keep the service affordable, a hold lasts up to three minutes. If the line is still engaged after that, or you hang up, we let you go and switch to Ring me back automatically. We keep dialling and ring you the moment they answer, so keep your phone handy.
By default, our Ring Again number. If your surgery rings people back, switch on "Show my number" in Settings and tap "Phone me to confirm": an automated US number phones you and you key in the code shown on screen. From then on the surgery sees your own number, so their return call reaches you. You can switch it off at any time.
The line picked up but dropped within a few seconds, before you were connected. That's usually a recorded "we are closed" or queue message. If you think it was a person, tap Go again.
Yes. If the surgery's system answers and puts you in a queue, you're connected into the queue just as if you'd dialled yourself.
Every session has an attempt limit and a 45-minute time limit so nothing runs away. Tap Go again to continue.
Connections and payments
A connection is used only when a call reaches the number you asked for, you're put through and you stay on the call for at least a minute. Engaged tones, no answers, missed ring-backs, time-outs and short recorded messages don't use one. Being connected into a surgery's queue does count once you've been on the line for a minute.
Your first connection is free. After that, connections come in packs of four for £2.99 from the App Store or Google Play. They never expire.
Settings › Connections shows how many you have left and a "Buy 4 more connections" button. The purchase screen also has "Restore a previous purchase" — use it if you've reinstalled the app or changed phone, while signed in to the same Apple or Google account.
Purchases go through Apple or Google and refunds follow their rules: request one from your App Store or Google Play purchase history. If something went wrong on our side — for example a connection was taken when the call didn't connect — email us and we'll put it right.
Your data
Settings › Delete my data removes your number, sessions, call history, any voice clip you recorded and your caller-ID verification immediately. See the privacy policy for what we hold and why.
